First Post!

Tomorrow is the big day! After a weeks of waiting I'm finally getting my birthday present from my husband. I've been giving hints for quite some time now and he eventually caught on.

It started a few weeks ago when a friend of mine posted a picture of a wreath she made on facebook. When I saw it I was like "I can do that," so I did and I haven't been able to stop since! I've been making my trips to Michael's and JoAnne's every weekend looking for inspiration. I realized if I was going to take this new addiction any further I needed the staple item of crafting...a sewing machine.

My experience with a sewing machine started in 11th grade when I took a sewing class for a semester. I can recall making the basics: pillow, and a skirt. The last project was making a shirt, that I never wore (can't imagine why). After the semester was over I never touched a sewing machine again, nor did I have the desire to. I think the reason I never tempted to touch a sewing machine again had to do with the bobbin. It always seemed to jam and I don't think I ever fully understood how to insert it.

So tonight I'm sitting here online, looking for a simple project to start my new adventure. Will it be a pillow? Perhaps a useful pincushion or maybe the cornhole bags my husband has been dying for me to make. Whatever it is I plan on blogging about it...no matter how it turns out!
